Piston rings are components directly responsible for engine performance, and have progressed along with engines. Each engine manufacturer's most recent engines require further improvements in fuel efficiency, cleaner exhaust, and longer service life because of environmental concerns. Along with these requirements, further lowering friction and improving wear-resistance are required for piston rings. TPR has been moving ahead with the development of low tension rings, narrow-width rings, and a combination of high-quality, high-performance piston ring materials with surface treatment.
